The John Paul II Centurions basketball squad (Corpus Christi, TX), was outscored 75-59 in Friday's league battle with the host John Paul II Guardians (New Braunfels, TX)

With the victory, John Paul II advances its record to 5-9 on the year. The Guardians travel to Incarnate Word Academy (Corpus Christi, TX) to meet the Angels in a TAPPS 4A District 5 battle on Tuesday, January 14. The Angels enter the battle with a record of 14-12. Incarnate Word Academy won 59-51 in their recent league battle against The Christian School at Castle Hills (San Antonio, TX)

The Centurions now own a 3-19 record. They put it on the line next when they host Holy Cross for a TAPPS 4A District 5 battle on Tuesday, January 14. John Paul II will meet a Knights squad coming off a 60-48 league win over New Braunfels Christian Academy (New Braunfels, TX). The Knights record now stands at 9-14.
