In Friday's league contest, the visiting Midlakes Screaming Eagles basketball team scored a good 49-41 triumph over the Penn Yan Academy Mustangs.

The Screaming Eagles (3-7) will now prepare for their contest against Wayland-Cohocton (Wayland, NY). The Eagles go into the non-league contest with a 5-6 record. In their last contest, Wayland-Cohocton topped Haverling (Bath, NY), 50-37, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Mustangs battle the Newark Reds (Newark, NY) in a Section 5 Finger Lakes - East contest, on Tuesday, January 14. Penn Yan Academy will attempt to better on its 0-8 season record. The Reds go into the contest with a 4-7 record after their 68-63 league win over Mynderse Academy (Seneca Falls, NY).
