Spectators at Friday's league bout between the Monterey Plainsmen (Lubbock, TX) and the host Plainview Bulldogs (Plainview, TX), saw Monterey's basketball team nip Plainview by a tally of 62-60.

The Plainsmen now possess a 11-15 record. They play next when they host Caprock for a 5A Region I District 3 bout on Tuesday, January 14. Monterey will play a Longhorns team coming off a 59-46 league loss to Tascosa (Amarillo, TX). The Longhorns record now stands at 5-17.

With the loss, Plainview falls to 13-8 on the campaign. The Bulldogs travel to Amarillo (Amarillo, TX) to play the Sandies in a 5A Region I District 3 bout on Tuesday, January 14. The Sandies go into the bout with a record of 22-5. Amarillo won 43-31 in their recent league bout against Coronado (Lubbock, TX)
