In Friday's league contest, the host Pine Tree Academy Breakers basketball team scored a big 49-14 win over the Vinalhaven Vikings.

The Breakers (7-2) will now prepare for their contest against Rangeley Lakes (Rangeley, ME). The Lakers come into the D South contest with a 1-7 record. In their last contest, Rangeley Lakes was trounced by Carrabec (North Anson, ME), 81-32, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Vikings battle the Wiscasset Wolverines (Wiscasset, ME) in a D South contest, on Tuesday, January 14. Vinalhaven will attempt to better on its 1-8 season record. The Wolverines come into the contest with a 6-2 record after their 64-46 league win over Islesboro Central (Islesboro, ME).
