The Stearns Minutemen basketball squad (Millinocket, ME), was nudged 60-53 in Friday's non-league battle with the host Piscataquis Pirates (Guilford, ME)
With the victory, Piscataquis advances its record to 3-7 on the year. The Pirates host Central (East Corinth, ME) to meet the Red Devils in a C North battle on Friday, January 17. The Red Devils enter the battle with a record of 4-6. Central lost 103-31 in their recent league battle against Mattanawcook (Lincoln, ME)
The Minutemen now own a 3-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host Katahdin for a D North battle on Monday, January 13. Stearns will meet a Cougars squad coming off a 78-15 league win over Ashland (Ashland, ME). The Cougars record now stands at 8-2.
