In Friday's league contest, the host Riverhead Blue Waves basketball team scored a good 65-56 triumph over the Walt Whitman Wildcats.
The Blue Waves (1-2) will now prepare for their contest against Patchogue-Medford (Medford, NY). The Raiders go into the Section 11 AAA-1 contest with a 0-1 record. In their last contest, Patchogue-Medford was topped by Walt Whitman (Huntington Station, NY), 57-23, in a league contest.
In their next game, the Wildcats battle the Central Islip Musketeers (Central Islip, NY) in a Section 11 AAA-1 contest, on Tuesday, January 14. Walt Whitman will attempt to better on its 7-3 season record. The Musketeers go into the contest with a 0-1 record after their 87-34 non-league loss to Southampton (Southampton, NY).
