California High School Basketball - Shafter holds off Taft

The Shafter Generals basketball team scored 61 points and limited the host Taft Wildcats to 55 in the Generals league triumph on Friday.

The Generals now possess a 4-7 record. They play next when they host Kennedy for a South Sequoia game on Tuesday, January 14. Shafter will confront a Thunderbirds team coming off a 71-62 league loss to McFarland (McFarland, CA). The Thunderbirds record now stands at 5-7.

With the loss, Taft falls to 8-9 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to Wasco (Wasco, CA) to confront the Tigers in a South Sequoia game on Tuesday, January 14. The Tigers go into the game with a record of 3-8. Wasco lost 66-19 in their recent non-league game against Coalinga (Coalinga, CA)
