The Hickory Hawks (Chesapeake, VA) basketball edged the host Great Bridge Wildcats (Chesapeake, VA), 56-51 in Friday's league bout.
The Hawks now possess a 5-6 record. They play next when they host Grassfield for a Southeastern bout on Friday, January 17. Hickory will play a Grizzlies team coming off a 64-32 league win over Indian River (Chesapeake, VA). The Grizzlies record now stands at 11-1.
With the loss, Great Bridge falls to 6-5 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to Heritage (Newport News, VA) to play the Hurricanes in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 18. The Hurricanes go into the bout with a record of 3-5.
