The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Port Isabel Tarpons (Port Isabel, TX) and the host Grulla Gators (Rio Grande City, TX), observed Port Isabel's basketball team knock off Grulla by a score of 51-33.

The Tarpons (3-11) will now prepare for their challenge against Hidalgo (Hidalgo, TX). The Pirates come into the 4A Region IV District 32 challenge with a 8-15 record. In their last challenge, Hidalgo dropped by La Feria (La Feria, TX), 73-42, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Gators encounter the Valley View Tigers (Pharr, TX) in a 4A Region IV District 32 challenge, on Tuesday, January 14. Grulla will attempt to improve on its 4-11 season record.
