The crowd at Friday's non-league challenge between the Zumbrota-Mazeppa Cougars (Zumbrota, MN) and the visiting La Crescent Lancers (La Crescent, MN), observed Zumbrota-Mazeppa's basketball team overwhelm La Crescent by a score of 58-35.

The Cougars (7-10) will now prepare for their challenge against Chatfield (Chatfield, MN). The Gophers come into the AA Section 1 challenge with a 6-9 record. In their last challenge, Chatfield was routed by Cotter (Winona, MN), 73-66, in a non-league challenge.

Coming up next, the Lancers play the St. Charles Fighting Saints (St. Charles, MN) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, January 16. La Crescent will attempt to move on its 1-12 season record.
