In Friday's league contest, the host Mercer Tigers basketball team scored a good 45-26 triumph over the Lac Courte Oreilles Eagles.
The Tigers (2-7) will now prepare for their contest against Mellen (Mellen, WI). The Granite Diggers go into the Northern Lights contest with a 6-4 record. In their last contest, Mellen topped Bayfield (Bayfield, WI), 58-30, in a league contest.
In their next game, the Eagles battle the Solon Springs Eagles (Solon Springs, WI) in a Northern Lights contest, on Tuesday, January 14. Lac Courte Oreilles will attempt to better on its 1-9 season record. The Eagles go into the contest with a 7-1 record after their 57-35 league win over Hurley (Hurley, WI).
