Smithfield Sentinels (Esmond, RI) fans exited the stadium happy Friday as they observed their ice hockey squad nudge the visiting Chariho Chargers (Wood River Junction, RI), 3-2 in a non-league game.
With the win, Smithfield improves its record to 2-0 on the year. The Sentinels host La Salle Academy (Providence, RI) to clash with the Rams in a Division 1 game on Thursday, January 16. The Rams enter the game with a record of 8-0.
The Chargers now sport a 3-5 record. They play next when they travel to New Canaan for a non-league game on Saturday, January 11. Chariho will clash with a Rams squad coming off a 3-2 non-league win over Hamden (Hamden, CT). The Rams record now stands at 6-0.
