Arkport Central Bluejays (Arkport, NY) boosters left the game satisfied Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad nudge the visiting Avoca Central Tigers (Avoca, NY), 36-33 in a non-league match.
With the victory, Arkport Central upgrades its record to 1-0 on the year. The Bluejays host Hornell (Hornell, NY) to face the Red Raiders in a non-league match on Thursday, January 16. The Red Raiders enter the match with a record of 0-4.
The Tigers now sport a 2-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host Canisteo-Greenwood for a non-league match on Monday, January 13. Avoca Central will face a Chargers squad coming off a 54-43 non-league win over Lyons (Lyons, NY). The Chargers record now stands at 3-0.
