El Cerrito Gauchos (El Cerrito, CA) backers exited the stadium pleased Friday as they witnessed their soccer team triumph over the host Salesian College Preparatory Pride (Richmond, CA), 9-1 in a league test.

With the triumph, El Cerrito advances its record to 4-0 on the campaign. The Gauchos travel to Pinole Valley (Pinole, CA) to clash with the Spartans in a test on Wednesday, January 22. The Spartans come into the test with a record of 3-6.

The Pride now have a 1-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Richmond for a test on Tuesday, January 14. Salesian College Preparatory will clash with a Oilers team coming off a 5-1 league win over Pinole Valley (Pinole, CA). The Oilers record now stands at 1-2.
