Wakefield Trojans (Wakefield, NE) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Ponca Indians (Ponca, NE), 57-40 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Wakefield upgrades its record to 11-2 on the season. The Trojans host Lawton-Bronson (Lawton, IA) to play the Eagles in a non-league bout on Thursday, January 13. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 2-8. Lawton-Bronson lost 45-28 in their recent league bout against Kingsley-Pierson (Kingsley, IA)
Next up, the Indians play the Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies (Elk Point, SD) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 14. Ponca will attempt to upgrade on its 4-8 season record. The Huskies go into the bout with a 5-2 record after their 64-35 non-league win over Canistota (Canistota, SD).
