South Winneshiek Warriors (Calmar, IA) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Postville Pirates (Postville, IA), 70-41 in a league bout.
With the win, South Winneshiek upgrades its record to 8-4 on the season. The Warriors host West Central (Maynard, IA) to play the Blue Devils in a Upper Iowa bout on Friday, January 14. The Blue Devils go into the bout with a record of 3-5. West Central won 42-39 in their recent league bout against Central (Elkader, IA)
Next up, the Pirates play the Mabel-Canton Cougars (Mabel, MN) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, January 13. Postville will attempt to upgrade on its 1-9 season record. The Cougars go into the bout with a 4-6 record after their 75-36 league loss to Lyle/Pacelli (Lyle, MN).
