The Ayden - Grifton Chargers basketball team (Ayden, NC), was nudged 35-31 in Tuesday's league battle with the host SouthWest Edgecombe Cougars (Pinetops, NC)

The Cougars now possess a 5-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Washington for a 2A Conference 4 battle on Friday, January 14. SouthWest Edgecombe will confront a Pam Pack team coming off a 47-38 league win over Greene Central (Snow Hill, NC). The Pam Pack record now stands at 3-7.

The Chargers (1-9) will now prepare for their battle against J.H. Rose (Greenville, NC). The Rampants come into the non-league battle with a 2-7 record. In their last battle, J.H. Rose was nudged by D.H. Conley (Greenville, NC), 63-25, in a league battle.
