Overton Mustangs (Overton, TX) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Carlisle Indians (Price, TX), 53-23 in a league bout.

With the win, Overton upgrades its record to 9-13 on the season. The Mustangs travel to Union Grove (Gladewater, TX) to play the Lions in a 2A Region III District 21 bout on Friday, January 14. The Lions go into the bout with a record of 15-10. Union Grove won 34-25 in their recent league bout against Big Sandy (Big Sandy, TX)

Next up, the Indians play the Beckville Bearcats (Beckville, TX) in a 2A Region III District 21 bout, on Friday, January 14. Carlisle will attempt to upgrade on its 1-10 season record. The Bearcats go into the bout with a 11-10 record after their 62-24 league loss to Hawkins (Hawkins, TX).
