The Bassett Bengals basketball team scored 60 points and held the host Byrd Terriers to 44 in the Bengals non-league victory on Wednesday.

With the victory, Bassett upgrades its record to 8-6 on the campaign. The Bengals travel to George Washington (Danville, VA) to play the Eagles in a Piedmont challenge on Friday, January 13. The Eagles come into the challenge with a record of 7-4. George Washington won 70-67 in their recent league challenge against Patrick County (Stuart, VA)

Next up, the Terriers play the Franklin County Eagles (Rocky Mount, VA) in a Blue Ridge challenge, on Friday, January 13. Byrd will attempt to upgrade on its 6-7 season record. The Eagles come into the challenge with a 9-5 record after their 70-47 non-league loss to Patrick Henry (Roanoke, VA).
