Voorheesville Blackbirds (Voorheesville, NY) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Cohoes Tigers (Cohoes, NY), 58-55 in a league bout.

With the victory, Voorheesville upgrades its record to 6-4 on the campaign. The Blackbirds travel to Catholic Central (Troy, NY) to play the Crusaders in a Section 2 Colonial - Patriot bout on Thursday, January 12. The Crusaders come into the bout with a record of 10-0. Catholic Central won 60-46 in their recent league bout against Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk (Ravena, NY)

Next up, the Tigers play the Mohonasen Warriors (Schenectady, NY) in a Section 2 Colonial - Liberty bout, on Friday, January 13. Cohoes will attempt to upgrade on its 2-10 season record. The Warriors come into the bout with a 4-9 record after their 63-58 league loss to Schalmont (Schenectady, NY).
