Mayfair Monsoons (Lakewood, CA) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Paramount Pirates (Paramount, CA), 60-43 in a league bout.

With the win, Mayfair upgrades its record to 9-10 on the season. The Monsoons host La Mirada (La Mirada, CA) to play the Matadores in a San Gabriel Valley bout on Friday, January 13. The Matadores go into the bout with a record of 15-6. La Mirada won 61-49 in their recent league bout against Dominguez (Compton, CA)

Next up, the Pirates play the Downey Vikings (Downey, CA) in a Gateway bout, on Friday, January 13. Paramount will attempt to upgrade on its 15-5 season record. The Vikings go into the bout with a 19-1 record after their 71-58 non-league win over Warren (Downey, CA).
