The Auburn Eagles (Riner, VA) basketball crushed the visiting Covington Cougars (Covington, VA), 57-23 in Wednesday's non-league test.
The Eagles (5-8) will now prepare for their test against Galax (Galax, VA). The Maroon Tide go into the Mountain Empire test with a 7-6 record. In their last test, Galax walloped Giles (Pearisburg, VA), 48-28, in a league test.
The Cougars now own a 0-11 record. They play next when they host Meadow Bridge for a non-league test on Thursday, January 12. Covington will encounter a Wildcats squad coming off a 47-41 league win over Montcalm (Montcalm, WV). The Wildcats record now stands at 7-1.
