Foley Lions (Foley, AL) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Daphne Trojans (Daphne, AL), 49-36 in a league bout.

With the win, Foley upgrades its record to 17-4 on the season. The Lions host Fairhope (Fairhope, AL) to play the Pirates in a 7A Area 2 bout on Friday, January 13. The Pirates go into the bout with a record of 4-8. Fairhope lost 45-27 in their recent non-league bout against Mary G. Montgomery (Semmes, AL)

Next up, the Trojans play the Biloxi Indians (Biloxi, MS) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 14. Daphne will attempt to upgrade on its 13-9 season record. The Indians go into the bout with a 17-3 record after their 34-32 league loss to Gulfport (Gulfport, MS).
