The La Mirada Matadores (La Mirada, CA) basketball felled the host Dominguez Dons (Compton, CA), 53-45 in Wednesday's league test.
The Matadores (9-6) will now prepare for their test against Mayfair (Lakewood, CA). The Monsoons go into the test with a 0-2 record. In their last test, Mayfair was beaten by Mira Costa (Manhattan Beach, CA), 90-49, in a non-league test.
The Dons now own a 0-1 record. They play next when they travel to La Mirada for a test on Friday, January 27.
