North Lawndale Phoenix (Chicago, IL) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Westinghouse Warriors (Chicago, IL), 55-54 in a league bout.

With the win, North Lawndale upgrades its record to 3-5 on the season. The Phoenix travel to Orr (Chicago, IL) to play the Spartans in a bout on Friday, January 13. The Spartans go into the bout with a record of 0-7. Orr lost 65-22 in their recent league bout against Whitney Young (Chicago, IL)

Next up, the Warriors play the Lane Tech Lane Tech (Chicago, IL) in a bout, on Friday, January 13. Westinghouse will attempt to upgrade on its 10-10 season record. The Lane Tech go into the bout with a 2-3 record after their 73-51 league loss to Lincoln Park (Chicago, IL).
