Volcano Vista Hawks (Albuquerque, NM) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting St. Pius X Sartans (Albuquerque, NM), 44-36 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Volcano Vista upgrades its record to 7-2 on the season. The Hawks travel to Eldorado (Albuquerque, NM) to play the Golden Eagles in a non-league bout on Friday, January 13. The Golden Eagles go into the bout with a record of 6-4. Eldorado won 70-65 in their recent non-league bout against Cibola (Albuquerque, NM)

Next up, the Sartans play the Belen Eagles (Belen, NM) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, January 18. St. Pius X will attempt to upgrade on its 8-4 season record.
