In Thursday's league outing, the Lower Richland Diamond Hornets (Hopkins, SC) basketball squad overwhelmed the visiting Gilbert Indians (Gilbert, SC), by a margin of 70-39.
The Diamond Hornets (10-5) will now prepare for their outing against Swansea (Swansea, SC). The Tigers go into the AAA Region 5 outing with a 0-15 record. In their last outing, Swansea was trounced by Orangeburg-Wilkinson (Orangeburg, SC), 81-35, in a league outing.
The Indians now own a 5-10 record. They play next when they travel to Brookland-Cayce for a AAA Region 5 outing on Tuesday, January 16. Gilbert will clash with a Bearcats squad coming off a 54-39 non-league loss to Atlantic Collegiate Academy (Conway, SC). The Bearcats record now stands at 8-7.
