Hurley Northstars (Hurley, WI) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting South Shore Cardinals (Port Wing, WI), 49-35 in a league bout.

With the victory, Hurley upgrades its record to 6-4 on the campaign. The Northstars host Crandon (Crandon, WI) to play the Cardinals in a non-league bout on Friday, January 12. The Cardinals come into the bout with a record of 4-9. Crandon won 66-60 in their recent league bout against Florence (Florence, WI)

Next up, the Cardinals play the Lac Courte Oreilles Eagles (Hayward, WI) in a Northern Lights bout, on Monday, January 15. South Shore will attempt to upgrade on its 3-8 season record. The Eagles come into the bout with a 2-11 record after their 87-41 league loss to Solon Springs (Solon Springs, WI).
