The Leake County Gators basketball team scored 51 points and held the visiting Piney Woods Tornadoes to 41 in the Gators league triumph on Thursday.
The Gators now sport a 6-12 record. They put it on the line next when they host Mount Olive for a 1A Region 7 contest on Friday, January 12. Leake County will battle a Pirates team coming off a 51-41 league loss to Leake County (Walnut Grove, MS). The Pirates record now stands at 5-5.
The Tornadoes (5-5) will now prepare for their contest against Leake County (Walnut Grove, MS). The Gators enter the 1A Region 7 contest with a 7-12 record. In their last contest, Leake County ran past Mount Olive (Mount Olive, MS), 53-40, in a league contest.
