Marlboro Mustangs (Marlboro, NJ) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Middletown South Eagles (Middletown, NJ), 61-43 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Marlboro upgrades its record to 5-5 on the season. The Mustangs travel to St. John-Vianney (Holmdel, NJ) to clash with the Lancers in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 13. The Lancers go into the bout with a record of 3-7. St. John-Vianney lost 46-40 in their recent league bout against Manasquan (Manasquan, NJ)

Next up, the Eagles clash with the Matawan Regional Huskies (Aberdeen, NJ) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 13. Middletown South will attempt to upgrade on its 3-7 season record. The Huskies go into the bout with a 4-7 record after their 51-49 non-league win over Wall Township (Wall, NJ).
