Nokomis Warriors (Newport, ME) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Messalonskee Eagles (Oakland, ME), 55-52 in a league bout.

With the victory, Nokomis upgrades its record to 7-4 on the campaign. The Warriors travel to Hampden (Hampden, ME) to play the Broncos in a A North bout on Wednesday, January 17. The Broncos come into the bout with a record of 7-1.

Next up, the Eagles play the Camden Hills Windjammers (Rockport, ME) in a A North bout, on Monday, January 15. Messalonskee will attempt to upgrade on its 7-4 season record. The Windjammers come into the bout with a 6-5 record after their 66-56 league win over Lawrence (Fairfield, ME).
