The Weequahic Indians basketball team (Newark, NJ), was nudged 48-47 in Thursday's league battle with the visiting Newark Academy Minutemen (Livingston, NJ)
The Minutemen now sport a 4-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Barringer for a non-league battle on Saturday, January 13. Newark Academy will battle a Blue Bears team coming off a 46-42 non-league loss to Science Park (Newark, NJ). The Blue Bears record now stands at 2-5.
The Indians (3-6) will now prepare for their battle against West Caldwell Tech (West Caldwell, NJ). The Eagles come into the non-league battle with a 4-5 record. In their last bout, West Caldwell Tech was edged by Nutley (Nutley, NJ), 59-53, in a league bout.
