Sonora Wildcats (Sonora, CA) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Argonaut Mustangs (Jackson, CA), 40-32 in a league bout.

With the win, Sonora upgrades its record to 6-3 on the season. The Wildcats host Calaveras (San Andreas, CA) to play the Red Hawks in a bout on Tuesday, January 16. The Red Hawks go into the bout with a record of 15-5. Calaveras won 52-42 in their recent non-league bout against El Dorado (Placerville, CA)

Next up, the Mustangs play the Summerville Bears (Tuolumne, CA) in a bout, on Tuesday, January 16. Argonaut will attempt to upgrade on its 0-6 season record. The Bears go into the bout with a 8-2 record after their 44-30 league win over Bret Harte (Angels Camp, CA).
