Calaveras Red Hawks (San Andreas, CA) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting El Dorado Cougars (Placerville, CA), 52-42 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Calaveras upgrades its record to 15-5 on the season. The Red Hawks travel to Sonora (Sonora, CA) to play the Wildcats in a bout on Tuesday, January 16. The Wildcats go into the bout with a record of 6-3. Sonora won 40-32 in their recent league bout against Argonaut (Jackson, CA)

Next up, the Cougars play the Union Mine Diamondbacks (El Dorado, CA) in a bout, on Friday, January 12. El Dorado will attempt to upgrade on its 3-8 season record. The Diamondbacks go into the bout with a 11-7 record after their 67-43 league win over Liberty Ranch (Galt, CA).
