Academy of Aerospace and Engineering Jets (Windsor, CT) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Cheney RVT Beavers (Manchester, CT), 28-24 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Academy of Aerospace and Engineering upgrades its record to 1-0 on the campaign. The Jets travel to Parish Hill (Chaplin, CT) to confront the Pirates in a Capitol Region battle on Tuesday, January 23. The Pirates come into the battle with a record of 2-8.

The Beavers (3-7) will now prepare for their battle against Prince RVT (Hartford, CT). The Falcons come into the Connecticut Technical battle with a 5-3 record. In their last battle, Prince RVT was nudged by Classical Magnet (Hartford, CT), 59-41, in a non-league battle.
