Bethel Bruins (Hampton, VA) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Warwick Raiders (Newport News, VA), 61-43 in a league bout.

With the win, Bethel upgrades its record to 8-4 on the season. The Bruins travel to Menchville (Newport News, VA) to clash with the Monarchs in a Peninsula bout on Tuesday, January 16. The Monarchs go into the bout with a record of 10-2. Menchville won 93-23 in their recent league bout against Heritage (Newport News, VA)

Next up, the Raiders clash with the Western Branch Bruins (Chesapeake, VA) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 13. Warwick will attempt to upgrade on its 8-4 season record. The Bruins go into the bout with a 8-5 record after their 40-34 league loss to Nansemond River (Suffolk, VA).
