The Carlynton Cougars (Carnegie, PA) basketball knocked off the visiting Sto-Rox Vikings (McKees Rocks, PA), 49-31 in Thursday's league test.

The Cougars (4-9) will now prepare for their test against Burgettstown (Burgettstown, PA). The Blue Devils go into the WPIAL 2A 2 test with a 6-8 record. In their last test, Burgettstown notched a victory over Brentwood (Pittsburgh, PA), 51-25, in a league test.

The Vikings now own a 1-7 record. They play next when they travel to Springdale for a non-league test on Wednesday, January 17. Sto-Rox will encounter a Dynamos squad coming off a 64-16 league loss to Greensburg Central Catholic (Greensburg, PA). The Dynamos record now stands at 3-8.
