Cranford Cougars (Cranford, NJ) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Westfield Blue Devils (Westfield, NJ), 52-49 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Cranford upgrades its record to 8-4 on the season. The Cougars host Governor Livingston (Berkeley Heights, NJ) to play the Highlanders in a Union County - Valley bout on Saturday, January 13. The Highlanders go into the bout with a record of 5-5. Governor Livingston lost 40-35 in their recent league bout against Dayton (Springfield, NJ)

Next up, the Blue Devils play the Highland Park Owls (Highland Park, NJ) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 13. Westfield will attempt to upgrade on its 2-8 season record. The Owls go into the bout with a 5-5 record after their 58-15 non-league win over New Brunswick (New Brunswick, NJ).
