North Carolina High School Basketball - Draughn tipped by Madison

The Madison Patriots basketball team scored 50 points and held the visiting Draughn Wildcats to 44 in the Patriots league triumph on Thursday.

The Patriots now sport a 7-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Avery County for a 1A/2A Western Highlands contest on Friday, January 12. Madison will meet a Vikings team coming off a 56-43 league loss to Mountain Heritage (Burnsville, NC). The Vikings record now stands at 6-7.

The Wildcats (5-9) will now prepare for their contest against Rosman (Rosman, NC). The Tigers enter the 1A/2A Western Highlands contest with a 11-3 record. In their last contest, Rosman nudged Owen (Black Mountain, NC), 68-32, in a league contest.
