The Vernon Vikings basketball team scored 57 points and held the visiting Hopatcong Chiefs to 29 in the Vikings league triumph on Thursday.
The Vikings now sport a 6-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Caldwell for a non-league contest on Saturday, January 13. Vernon will battle a Chiefs team coming off a 47-35 non-league loss to Mount St. Dominic Academy (Caldwell, NJ). The Chiefs record now stands at 5-3.
The Chiefs (1-9) will now prepare for their contest against Veritas Christian Academy (Sparta, NJ). The enter the non-league contest with a 10-1 record. In their last contest, Veritas Christian Academy triumphed over Lacordaire Academy (Upper Montclair, NJ), 55-13, in a non-league contest.
