West Jefferson Buccaneers (Harvey, LA) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Kennedy Cougars (New Orleans, LA), 16-12 in a non-league bout.

With the win, West Jefferson upgrades its record to 1-14 on the season. The Buccaneers host Riverdale (Jefferson, LA) to clash with the Rebels in a non-league bout on Wednesday, January 17. The Rebels go into the bout with a record of 15-3.

Next up, the Cougars clash with the Booker T. Washington Lions (New Orleans, LA) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 12. Kennedy will attempt to upgrade on its 1-9 season record. The Lions go into the bout with a 12-5 record after their 47-20 non-league win over Bonnabel (Kenner, LA).
