Leesville Wampus Cats (Leesville, LA) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Pickering Red Devils (Leesville, LA), 43-30 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Leesville upgrades its record to 14-8 on the campaign. The Wampus Cats travel to Iowa (Iowa, LA) to play the Yellowjackets in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 13. The Yellowjackets come into the bout with a record of 20-3. Iowa won 66-46 in their recent non-league bout against Reeves (Reeves, LA)

Next up, the Red Devils play the Rosepine Eagles (Rosepine, LA) in a 2A District 4 bout, on Friday, January 12. Pickering will attempt to upgrade on its 10-11 season record. The Eagles come into the bout with a 19-5 record after their 80-33 league win over Glenmora (Glenmora, LA).
