North Carolina High School Basketball - Monroe topped by West Stanly

The Monroe Redhawks basketball team (Monroe, NC), dropped 54-40 in Thursday's league battle with the visiting West Stanly Colts (Oakboro, NC)

The Colts now sport a 5-9 record. They put it on the line next when they host Forest Hills for a 2A/3A Rocky River battle on Friday, January 12. West Stanly will battle a Yellow Jackets team coming off a 58-42 league loss to Piedmont (Monroe, NC). The Yellow Jackets record now stands at 4-7.

The Redhawks (2-8) will now prepare for their battle against Parkwood (Monroe, NC). The Wolf Pack come into the 2A/3A Rocky River battle with a 7-7 record. In their last battle, Parkwood prevailed over Anson (Wadesboro, NC), 72-30, in a league battle.
