The Pinckneyville Panthers (Pinckneyville, IL) basketball crushed the visiting Murphysboro Red Devils (Murphysboro, IL), 81-16 in Thursday's non-league test.

The Panthers (13-7) will now prepare for their test against Carbondale (Carbondale, IL). The Terriers go into the non-league test with a 8-15 record. In their last test, Carbondale was trounced by Mt. Vernon (Mt. Vernon, IL), 66-37, in a league test.

The Red Devils now own a 2-18 record. They play next when they travel to Metro-East Lutheran for a non-league test on Saturday, January 13. Murphysboro will encounter a Knights squad coming off a 60-13 league loss to Father McGivney Catholic (Glen Carbon, IL). The Knights record now stands at 0-16.
