Monticello Mustangs (Charlottesville, VA) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Albemarle Patriots (Charlottesville, VA), 42-13 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Monticello upgrades its record to 5-3 on the campaign. The Mustangs travel to Fluvanna County (Palmyra, VA) to play the Flying Flucos in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 16. The Flying Flucos come into the bout with a record of 1-5.

Next up, the Patriots play the Orange County Fighting Hornets (Orange, VA) in a bout, on Tuesday, January 16. Albemarle will attempt to upgrade on its 2-6 season record. The Fighting Hornets come into the bout with a 6-6 record after their 26-22 league loss to Louisa County (Mineral, VA).
