Granite Hills Eagles (El Cajon, CA) fans were thrilled Thursday as they observed their soccer team hold off the host Steele Canyon Cougars (Spring Valley, CA), 2-1 in a league challenge.

Next, the Eagles face the Valhalla Norsemen (El Cajon, CA) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, January 13. Granite Hills will attempt to better on its 5-3 season record. The Norsemen enter the challenge with a 6-3 record after their 2-1 league loss to El Capitan (Lakeside, CA).

The Cougars now have a 3-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Monte Vista for a Grossmont Valley challenge on Tuesday, January 16. Steele Canyon will face a Monarchs team coming off a 3-0 league loss to West Hills (Santee, CA). The Monarchs record now stands at 3-3.
