In Saturday's non-league contest, the host Velma-Alma Comets basketball team scored a good 69-51 triumph over the Lexington Bulldogs.
The Comets (11-1) will now prepare for their contest against Empire (Duncan, OK). The Bulldogs go into the non-league contest with a 5-5 record. In their last contest, Empire was topped by Burns Flat-Dill City (Burns Flat, OK), 50-46, in a non-league contest.
In their next game, the Bulldogs battle the Little Axe Indians (Norman, OK) in a non-league contest, on Monday, January 13. Lexington will attempt to better on its 3-10 season record. The Indians go into the contest with a 6-8 record after their 50-34 non-league loss to Davis (Davis, OK).
