The Shepherd Mustangs basketball team scored 53 points and limited the visiting Sweet Grass County Sheepherders to 47 in the Mustangs league triumph on Saturday.

The Mustangs now possess a 2-3 record. They play next when they host Lame Deer for a non-league game on Monday, January 13. Shepherd will play a Morning Stars team coming off a 83-50 non-league win over Northern Cheyenne Tribal (Busby, MT). The Morning Stars record now stands at 4-3.

With the loss, Sweet Grass County falls to 2-4 on the campaign. The Sheepherders host Roundup (Roundup, MT) to play the Panthers in a B District 4 game on Friday, January 17. The Panthers go into the game with a record of 1-3. Roundup lost 60-21 in their recent league game against Columbus (Columbus, MT)
