The Gilmer Buckeyes (Gilmer, TX) basketball crushed the visiting Cumberland Academy Knights (Tyler, TX), 66-41 in Saturday's league bout.

The Buckeyes now possess a 4-18 record. They play next when they travel to Spring Hill for a 4A Region II District 16 bout on Tuesday, January 14. Gilmer will play a Panthers team coming off a 40-24 league loss to Chapel Hill (Tyler, TX). The Panthers record now stands at 18-8.

With the loss, Cumberland Academy falls to 7-19 on the campaign. The Knights travel to Pine Tree (Longview, TX) to play the Pirates in a 4A Region II District 16 bout on Tuesday, January 14. The Pirates go into the bout with a record of 13-7. Pine Tree lost 58-36 in their recent league bout against Carthage (Carthage, TX)
