The Vega Longhorns were victorious over the host West Texas Comanches basketball squad by a final score of 38-23 in Saturday's league outing.

Next, the Longhorns face the Sanford-Fritch Eagles (Fritch, TX) in a 2A Region I District 1 outing, on Tuesday, January 14. Vega will attempt to upgrade on its 15-5 season record. The Eagles enter the outing with a 12-6 record after their 59-28 league loss to Stratford (Stratford, TX).

The Comanches (16-10) will now prepare for their outing against Gruver (Gruver, TX). The Greyhounds enter the 2A Region I District 1 outing with a 10-15 record. In their last outing, Gruver was dropped by Vega (Vega, TX), 45-31, in a league outing.
